Anthem是日本最具代表性的重金属乐队之一，1981年由吉他手清水昭男和贝斯手柴田直人组建。乐队以英式重金属为根基，融入日式旋律的锐利感与高亢嗓音，形成刚硬、迅猛且富有张力的音乐风格，与Loudness等乐队共同推动了日本重金属浪潮的兴起。1985年发行首张同名专辑后，乐队通过《Tightrope》《Bound to Break》《Gypsy Ways》等作品确立了牢固地位，成为80年代日式重金属的重要声音。
